Vision Hero Video Series, Lauren Mills

We are proud to launch our latest Vision Hero video featuring artist Lauren Mills. Lauren is a legally blind teenager who has been drawing since she could pick up a crayon at 10 months of age. She says she has been blessed with a gift of sight that occurs through the lens of her mind and her dreams. She shares her vivid imagination through her art.

Lauren was born with nystagmus, astigmatism and oculocutaneous albinism, a rare inherited disorder. She still has painful memories of being teased and bullied by other kids who didn’t understand why she looked different and why her eyes constantly moved. But that is not what defines Lauren. She overcame her vision-related challenges through art, family and faith.

Stay tuned for more #VOCVisionHero videos later this year.
