The Vision of Children Foundation seeks to improve the lives of visually impaired individuals and their families by providing educational and emotional support and services. Families of the visually impaired often feel isolated and confused, and need support to face day-to-day life. We believe communication between families, educators, healthcare professionals, and researchers who care for these children is critical, and we work to facilitate this process.

The VOC Family Support Network is a dedicated online community designed to support families impacted by hereditary vision disorders or hereditary blindness. Through a combination of emotional support, resource sharing, and educational opportunities, the program helps families navigate the challenges associated with vision loss while building strong connections with others facing similar situations.The program will primarily operate through a private Facebook group, ensuring a safe and confidential space for members to interact.

Overview: The VOC Family Support Network is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Ambassadors within our online support community. Ambassadors will play a key role in facilitating meetings, encouraging engagement, and supporting families impacted by hereditary vision disorders or hereditary blindness. Ambassador Responsibilities: • Facilitate and coordinate online support group meetings. • Promote active and respectful participation. • Assist in content creation and resource sharing. • Collect feedback to help improve the program. Eligibility Criteria: • Must be an active member of the VOC Family Support Network. • Able to commit to attending and leading meetings regularly. • Demonstrate empathy and a desire to support others.

Selection Process

Your application will be reviewed by the VOC Family Support Network team. We will notify you of the outcome and, if accepted, you will participate in an orientation session. VOC reserves the right to modify or terminate the Ambassador role at any time.

Orientation and Ongoing Training

Accepted Ambassadors will receive training documents that will include the goals of the program, facilitation best practices, and tools to foster engagement. Ambassadors will also have access to a communication channel for ongoing support and collaboration with other leaders.
