Spring Tea 2022
“Springtime, Tea Time” Another Successful Event for VOC
It was a beautiful day in Rancho Santa Fe on May 25, where Morgan Run Club & Resort welcomed a sold-out crowd of 110 guests for a spring tea. Guests enjoyed boutique shopping, champagne reception and silent auction, delicious tea service, and presentations by VOC researcher Dr. Karl Wahlin and Vision Hero Ambassador and Motivational Speaker, Jeremy Poincenot.
During the program portion, Vision of Children recognized four women who have been pillars of VOC’s mission for their decades-long service. The four recipients to receive VOC’s first-ever Legacy Leadership Awards were Paula Bates, Carol Cutting, Maureen McMahon, and Lynne Wheeler.
This year’s “Springtime, Tea Time” event was made possible by the dedicated efforts and support of event Co-Chairs Maria Delgado, Tamara Lafarga-Joseph, and Lynne Wheeler who led an amazing group of women who made up the Spring Tea Event Committee. The event raised over $100,000 in net proceeds through sponsorships, underwriters, ticket sales, silent auctions, and opportunity drawings. We’d also like to thank our boutique vendors who donated 20% of their sales to Vision of Children.
Proceeds from the event will support critical vision research to find cures for genetic vision disorders and childhood blindness and provide support services for children living with blindness or visual impairment and their families.
